Photography with a little movie magic and zero corporate awkwardness.
Hi, I’m Mark.
I’m a photographer based in Los Angeles, and I’m also expanding my work into Las Vegas and Tampa and St. Pete. I work with clients in different cities, so I’m always happy to talk about projects wherever they may be.
Most of my work falls into three areas: live event coverage, publication ready portraits, and commercial brand imagery. That can mean anything from a red carpet or conference to a brand activation, private event, portrait session, or promotional shoot.
I try to make the whole process easy. I’m calm, prepared, and very focused on getting the images my clients actually need. I understand how important the photos are for PR, marketing, sponsors, event producers, and talent teams, especially when the moment only happens once.
More than anything, I care about doing good work, being easy to have in the room, and creating images that feel natural, polished, and useful.
I spent almost two decades working in film and post-production before becoming a full-time photographer, so I tend to look at an event as part of a larger production rather than just something I'm there to document.
Frequently Asked Questions

No two events are exactly alike, so my rates are based on the details of your project. Coverage length, location, editing, image usage, and any special production needs can all affect the final quote.
For example, my event photography coverage starts at $2,500/day. My starting rates are a pretty good guideline for most assignments, and many projects do land close to those numbers. Every job is a little different though, so the final quote depends on what you actually need.
Things like the length and scope of the shoot, location, final deliverables, turnaround time, and how the images will be used can all affect pricing. Some assignments may also require additional crew, such as a photo assistant, second photographer, or Digi-Tech, along with special lighting, permits, travel, location fees, or additional insurance requirements.
If you need same-day selects, extensive retouching, a larger final image library, or broader commercial usage, I’ll factor that into the quote as well.
I try to keep all of this straightforward. Once I understand what you’re planning, I’ll put together a clear proposal so you know what’s included and what it will cost before the shoot.
Once I know a bit more about what you need, I can put together a proposal that fits your event and your goals.

Yes! Every event is different, and a custom quote keeps things clear, simple, and tailored to what you actually need.
You will know exactly what is included, what the timeline looks like, and how the images can be used. It also helps me prepare properly, so I can focus on capturing the moments that matter most.
Send over a few details, and I will put together a proposal that fits your event.

Great moments happen fast at live events, and you usually only get one chance to catch them. Over the years, I’ve learned how to read the room, follow the flow, and stay ready for the moments that matter most.
I know how to move through an event without getting in the way. Whether it’s a corporate panel, backstage prep, or a busy red carpet, I work quietly, stay aware, and capture what’s happening without disrupting it.
I also shoot with purpose. It’s not just about getting good photos, it’s about creating images that are actually useful for your brand, marketing, and promotion. Before the event, I make sure I understand what you need so the final gallery feels relevant, polished, and ready to use.
-
Same-day selects available. Full event galleries typically delivered within 2–4 business days.
For larger events, I can also work with a trusted Digi-Tech or on-site photo editor to help turn around key images in real time.
Either way, the process is smooth, organized, and built to deliver polished results without extra hassle.

I’m easy to work with, I care, and I know exactly how to deliver for PR, marketing, event producers, sponsors, and talent teams when the moment only happens once.
I come prepared with professional gear, backup equipment, and the experience to adapt quickly in any environment. From dark ballrooms to outdoor events to backstage coverage, I know how to keep things moving without sacrificing quality.
I also carry general liability insurance, and all work is handled through Mark Edwards Photography Corporation, so everything is professional and business-ready from the start.
More importantly, I treat every event like a true partnership. I show up prepared, communicate clearly, and make the process easier so you have one less thing to worry about.

Insurance & Certificate of Liability
When it comes to insurance, one size doesn't always fit all.
I work with a variety of studios, agencies, event producers, and corporate clients, and I understand that everyone has their own insurance requirements.
I carry commercial general liability insurance through Lockton Affinity, with coverage provided by AIX Specialty Insurance Company. My current policy includes:
$1,000,000 per occurrence
$2,000,000 general aggregate
$1,000,000 personal and advertising injury
Hired and non-owned automobile liability coverage
These are common coverage amounts for professional photographers around the world, and I'm always happy to provide a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) upon request.
Insurance Should Fit the Job
Mark Edwards Photography Corporation is a small, owner-operated photography business. Most of the time, it's just me, my cameras, some lighting equipment, and occasionally an assistant when the job calls for one.
I'm not a large production company, and the work I do is quite different from someone bringing in a full production crew, commercial vehicles, or heavy equipment.
I completely understand why studios and agencies have standard insurance requirements. It makes sense when you're working with so many different kinds of vendors.
But I also believe those requirements should reflect the actual work being performed, rather than applying the same insurance checklist to everyone.
A photographer covering an editorial portrait session or corporate event has very different needs from a company managing a large production. I think it's worth considering those differences.
Let's Figure Out What Works
If your studio, agency, or venue requires insurance beyond what I currently carry, I'm always happy to talk about it.
Just send me your insurance requirements, including any special endorsements or agreements, before we finalize the booking. I'll check with my insurance provider to see what can be accommodated.
Sometimes additional coverage is available, and sometimes it isn't. There can also be a significant cost involved, particularly if a separate policy is needed. If we can arrange the additional insurance, we'll discuss those costs ahead of time and include them in my photography proposal.
And if something doesn't quite fit the assignment, let's talk about it. There may be another way to handle the requirements or find a reasonable compromise that works for everyone.
At the end of the day, I want everyone to feel comfortable and properly protected. I take that responsibility seriously, and I'm always happy to work with clients to find a practical solution.
I'd just much rather sort these things out ahead of time so we can spend less time on paperwork and more time making great photographs!
Hold Harmless Agreements
I know some studios and venues require Hold Harmless Agreements, and I completely understand wanting to protect themselves. I do too!
The difficulty for me is that some of these agreements go well beyond taking responsibility for my own work. Depending on how they're written, I could end up personally responsible for legal expenses or situations that have nothing to do with me or the photographs I'm there to take.
For a small photography business like mine, that's a pretty big risk to take on, and honestly, not something I'm comfortable signing.
I'm absolutely happy to be responsible for my own actions and the work I do. I just can't agree to take on broad legal and financial responsibilities for things outside my control.
That doesn't mean we can't work together, though! If your studio or venue requires an HHA, let's talk about it ahead of time. Maybe there's a simpler agreement, different language, or another arrangement that protects everyone without putting unreasonable liability on either side.
I'd love to find a way to make the photography happen. I just need to make sure the paperwork makes sense for the job, too.
